Learning Space Foundation (LSF) is a non-profit support activity running since 2005, to benefit marginalized communities in the Tansa River Valley region on the outskirts of Mumbai city. The support comes through better educational opportunities, skills training, career and personal guidance for groups of children, native women and youth of the region.
The foundation has set up a social enterprise for benefitting these groups, of making creative products from indigenous produce and recycled material, to empower them to use their innate skills and find self-sustenance within the village system. In the past few years, the artistic products made from recycled particle board, cotton cloth and canvas, handmade paper/card etc. have earned the social enterprise a handsome reputation, gained financial stability & self-esteem for women and well-being in the community… although this is just the beginning, it could very well be a way for village India to renew its present and step firmly into the future.
Helping a village girl to study is also a project initiated by Learning Space Foundation. To find out more visit HELP MONIKA.
