Meditation and being Mind-‘Less’

As I work in the coaching, yoga and hypnotherapy fields I am constantly exposed to individuals desiring to evolve yet many trapped in a space of suffering.

The reality is that we struggle to be still, to be present and most importantly to be. We live in a rat race society where ridiculous working hours, fast paced lives and social media overload is seen as the best thing since sliced bread. Well, I gotta tell ya, I would prefer my mamas homemade cooking because right now we are living and eating disease.

As part of my mission to serve society, I have formed a meditation and mind-less workshop where the aim is on learning to manage our lives, go within and evolve on higher levels. This will ripple into how we serve society, nature and the world around us. Change needs to happen and it starts within. 

So what do we do?

Firstly we need to combat the highest cause of disease being stress and anxiety. In the workshop you will learn how to manage stress and anxiety, embrace a yogic lifestyle and start living in an environment that enriches success and stimulates growth.

Secondly the experience of meditation will be explored. During the meditation process, you will learn how to evolve out of suffering and connect to the higher source within yourself and with the external cosmos of being what is. There will be a variety of processes used that have been developed by the ancient sages and luminaries and will ignite the wisdom within you. Masters such as Swami Satyananda Saraswati and Sadhguru have been the developers of these processes, which consist of body postures, a concentration process, breath work and maintaining stillness and steadiness of the mind and body, and this will provide you with a complete spiritual practice.

Swami Satyananda Saraswati states, “In the 21st century, beyond the needs of individuals, the underlying principles of yoga provide a real tool to combat social malaise. At a time when the world seems to be at a loss, rejecting past values without being able to establish new ones, yoga provides a means for people to find their own way of connecting with their true selves.”

Thirdly Yoga Nidra, which forms part of the meditation process, will be harnessed. Yoga Nidra is the experience of psychic sleep, where you are between sleep and the awakened state. Yoga Nidra is one of the biggest gifts given from the Satyananda yoga tradition as it provides you with the opportunity for complete relaxation. Even during sleep, our mind is not relaxed as our brain is still functioning and activating unconscious material, whereas Yoga Nidra is the scientific way of sleeping. Half an hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 2 hours of deep sleep. We will discuss how this process works, experience this process and you will walk away with materials that will continue to guide you in your daily practice.

Finally the mind-‘less’ portion of the workshop is interwoven throughout the whole course and looks at being a witness to our thoughts rather than devouring our thoughts as the truth. This mindfulness process will look at specific tips to reprogramming your mind through internalization and sitting with the prose and present moment of being. Coaching techniques will be delved into and focused on your way of being, having effective conversations, experiencing surrendering and letting go.

The aim of the workshop is to create a shift on a mental, emotional and physical level. Most importantly these processes shift you away from external identification and into a mastery internal position. Being identified with external stimuli is the process of being human, but it is also a process of keeping us trapped in an illusion of false happiness continuously seeking for external gratification. The internal mastery position asks you to detach from the outside world and connect to your internal flow where you truly experience what happiness is and that is within you.

So let us retreat to the internal sanctuary within ourselves where you will connect to the wisdom of who you are, evolve through blockages and turmoil and ultimately live more connected to you, the source and all dwelling beings. Change will happen and true success will be the result.
