Giving back to Brazil

By Sharda ten Hove on 10 July 2014

The whole world has its focus on the Football World Cup of 2014 held in Brazil. But behind the scenes a whole other image of colorful Brazil is kept secretly.

From the 50 most violent cities in the world, Brazil is number 16 on the list. It’s home to the biggest crack market in the world and every hour in Brazil a child or teenager is murdered.

With all the attention Brazil is getting because of the World Cup that most people enjoy, we would want to invite everyone who is enjoying the games to give back to the country that has been hosting this 2014 event.

You can give back by donating a small amount (which seriously is nothing compared to the foods and drinks you would be purchasing to watch the game) to: Action for Brazil’s Children: the largest charity in the UK dedicated to helping at risk children and young people in cities across Brazil. Today they have 16 projects in the major urban centres of Rio, Sao Paulo, Recife, Salvador and Fortaleza. Read more about who they are here.

Make this a World Cup to remember, for them and for you.

support brazil's children

Thank you.
