The original Indian dessert is with milk and sugar. Mine is organic, vegan and no sugar. And really very good + super quick and easy to make!
Cook 1 cup of organic white basmati rice in 2 cups unsweetened almond milk. Add while cooking some ground cinnamon, 1 pod of cardamom (open and take seeds out) and add a hand full of organic raisins. Let the rice absorb the milk, and taste every now and then if the rice is soft enough. If not add more almond milk. When ready, turn of heat and add some saffron (just a few threads). Saffron can’t be boiled as it will loose it’s flavor and healing properties.
When ready put the mix in the blender, add 1 scoop of coconut butter and serve with some ground cinnamon on top.
You can eat this hot or cold and you can of course substitute the white rice for brown rice to get more fibers.

Basmati rice: iron, manganese and B-vitamins.
Almond milk: support healthy digestion due to fibers, high in Vit A en D
Cinnamon: regulates blood sugar, reduces LDL cholesterol levels, may reduce the proliferation of cancer cells, effective for menstrual pain and infertility.
Cardamom: helps digestion, detoxifies, helps with cold, flu, bronchitis and coughs.
Coconut butter: boosts immunity and destroys harmful bacteria and viruses.
