Super delicious and good for your heart vegan sandwich.

By Sharda ten Hove on 10 June 2014

This sandwich is filled with goodness, I used organic wholewheat bread but you can choose any other (glutenfree) option. If you want to go for a raw lunch, the topping tastes also very good on raw flaxseed crackers.

This sandwich is the perfect lunch since it satisfies the tummy but does not leave you feeling heavy or tired.

So what’s in it?

Hummus is made of chickpeas: your protein provider, they prevent build up of cholesterol and help in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels.

The usual other ingredients of hummus are:
Tahin: a sesame paste, full of calcium
Lemon and garlic: filled with antioxidants, help reduce stress and build your immune system.
Olive oil: is a healthy fat and helps regulate cholesterol and so protect the heart from various diseases.

The other ingredients of your delicious healthy sandwich are:

Avocado: : packed with nutrients and good fats, avocados give you a healthy heart, support weight loss (good fats do that!), glowing skin and can help in treatment or prevention of diabetes and arthritis.
avocado in 2 halves
Cherry tomatoes: these cute little red balls are absolutely power balls as they are loaded with lycopene: an antioxidant which helps to clear out damaging free radicals in the body that can harm our cells.

Red radish sprouts: Thanks to their extremely high glucosinolate content, radish sprouts are nature’s best cancer fighters. They are also filled with folate, a vitamin that helps promote cardiovascular health.

And for those who want to lose weight: red radish sprouts contain high levels of Vit.C. Your body uses vitamin C to make carnitine, a compound that lets your body turn fat into fuel, rather than to store it as body fat.

Pink himalayan salt:detoxifies your body, lowers blood pressure, aids in respiratory conditions, improves blood circulation.

Eating healthy and yummy go very well together!
