Coconut Oil, The Spirit of Mother Nature

The health benefits of coconut oil include skin and hair care, improved cholesterol levels, weight loss, strengthened immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, Alzheimer’s, dental care, and bone strength.

Coconut oil is also known as the breast milk of Mother Nature. It ‘s Medium Chain Fatty Acid (MCFA’S) composition is made up of Lauric Acid, Caprylic Acid and Capric Acid. These ingredients are found naturally in Mothers breast milk. They make up the antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial and soothing properties of coconut oil. These MCFA’s is what makes coconut oil such an amazing natural food medicine.

External Use
In India coconut oil is applied on the scalp and hair extensively as it nourishes and hydrates damaged hair. Often it is used as a conditioner. It prevents dandruff when massaged on a dry scalp.

Massaging the body and face with coconut oil helps heal problems like psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and dry flaky skin. It is used throughout pregnancy to prevent stretch marks, and is known to delay wrinkles and sagging skin. When applied on wounds and cuts, coconut oil forms a shield, consequently preventing the entry of dust, bacteria and virus. It speeds up the healing process while repairing damaged tissue.

Internal Use
As a health tonic mix a tablespoon of coconut oil in your herbal tea, smoothie, or warm water and lemon juice. It is the only oil that is stable enough to withstand high temperatures making it ideal for cooking. The saturated fats in coconut oil prevent growth of fungi and parasites that cause indigestion and related digestive problems. It helps in absorption of amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Our brain is made up of 80% saturated fat. Resent research by Dr Mary Newport has indicated that coconut oil can help prevent and even reverse brain related disease such as Alzheimer’s.

Taking a tablespoon of coconut oil with every meal will help burn up the kilojoules of that meal and contribute to weight-loss.

According to the Coconut Medicine Man in Dr Bruce Fife’s book Coconut Cures, three tablespoons of coconut oil per day will make you healthier, happier and more beautiful!
