Yoga Stops Traffick - A yoga event to support victims of human trafficking

By Sharda ten Hove on 24 January 2013

Yoga stops traffick is a one-day global yoga event created to raise awareness and funds for Indian anti-trafficking organisation Odanadi . This year the event will be held on or around March 15th.

Yoga studios all over the world are organizing yoga events like the 108 Sun Salutations. The number 108 is a significant number in many cultures and religions.
Other studios will continue with their regular classes but will make it into a donation class and all donations will go to Odanadi.

For victims of human trafficking who have gone through horrible traumatic experiences it is a fantastic way to show that they are not alone, that there are people worldwide caring for them and supporting them.

Odanadi is based in Mysore, India where on the 15th of March 2014 people from far away villages and visitors from foreign countries will come together to participate in this annual event. In that same weekend Yoga studio’s around the world will participate with donation classes.

Check with your yoga studio or another studio in your community if they are participating. If you are a yoga instructor we encourage you to organize your own donation class. Please contact Yoga Stops Traffick to find out more.

Odanadi has organizations in several countries: India, United Kingdom, Netherlands and the USA.
